Unit price  per

Mixed fiber bilum bag, handwoven by female artisans. The natural fibers are hand processed by sourcing, stripping, and twisting local plants into string. Pigment is achieved through soaking and boiling items such as berries, tree bark and mud. This bilum features natural fibers interspersed with a colorful mix of wool and acrylic yarn.

Handwoven by the Highlands women of Papua New Guinea, using the skills and knowledge passed down from their ancestors. Each bag is unique, reflecting the process of sourcing the fiber and dying the bilum that is specific to each weaver. One bilum can take several months to complete.

Please note all bilum bags are final sale.
